Mr. Glenn Moore is passionate about giving back to his community, which is why his role as Board Chair of Wilmington Renaissance Corporation is important to him.
Glenn has been a part of WRC’s board for more than a decade, lending his time and resources to the efforts of the organization. Since he became Board Chair three years ago, Glenn has seen WRC refocus its efforts into specific areas of development for the city. The Creative District and the New Market Wilm campaign were created under his leadership of the board.
To him, the value of WRC’s work and vision is its ability to bridge the gap between the key players in Wilmington.
“The core competency of Wilmington Renaissance is we know and understand the City of Wilmington. We know the players, we know the local government side, and we know the business side of Wilmington,” Glenn said. “We also bring our partnerships to the table. It is thanks to these two core competencies that projects like the Creative District have been so successful.”
In his professional life, Glenn is the Vice President at Delmarva Power where he has worked for over 30 years. He is responsible for engaging stakeholder relations with state and local officials; community leaders; and business, consumer and nonprofit organizations within the region.
“[Delmarva Power] believes we have a tremendous responsibility to support the community we live and work in,” said Glenn. “We see it as incredibility important for businesses to assist in the long-term progress of all our communities including the City of Wilmington which is our largest community in the State of Delaware.”
A native Delawarean, Glenn is an alumnus of the University of Delaware where he earned a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in economics.
In his spare time, Glenn loves to spend time with his family, travel, play golf, and give his time to the many nonprofit organizations he supports.
